About Scarecrow and Mrs. King
Scarecrow and Mrs. King was a popular but relatively short-run one hour adventure show on CBS during the mid-1980s. It starred Kate Jackson as Amanda “Mrs.” King, a divorced housewife who lives with her mother and two pre-adolescent sons. After a chance meeting with Agent Lee Stetson (Bruce Boxleitner), aka “Scarecrow”, Amanda inadvertently gets involved in a case and a relationship between the agency (and Scarecrow) and Mrs. King develops. She eventually becomes an agent and must keep her new identity secret from the family. The show ended prematurely in 1987, after four reasonably successful seasons and 88 episodes, when Jackson was diagnosed with breast cancer.
